An Important Update Regarding the Future of GGRetroBox
Updated April 21, 2026
This is an announcement regarding the future of GGRetroBox and the next chapter of this journey.
When GGRetroBox first launched, the goal was driven by a specific vision: to take a passion for retro gaming and programming and turn it into a service that solved the gaps found in other subscription boxes. Starting this venture at just 15 was an incredible challenge and an even greater opportunity.
While there was support from family and the community along the way, building the platform, managing the logic behind the curation, and handling the daily operations as the lead developer has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Over the past few years, the growth of this community has been nothing short of amazing. Seeing the reviews, hearing your feedback, and knowing that these boxes brought genuine excitement to gamers across the country made every late night of coding and inventory management worth it.
However, life is moving into a new phase. I will soon be moving away to begin my college education. After much reflection, I have unfortunately decided to shut down GGRetroBox to focus fully on my education and to prepare for the next generation of products and ideas I hope to someday build. This isn't a "game over," but rather a chance to take everything I learned from GGRetroBox and apply it to future innovations that I hope will bring joy to people on an even larger scale.
What this means for subscribers:
Current Orders: If you have already been charged for this month’s box, do not worry. Those orders are shipped out and should arrive soon if they haven't already. You can expect your final GGRetroBox to arrive by this week. All subscriptions will be automatically cancelled before the next renewal, and long term subscriptions will have the remaining months refunded.
Collection Data: The GGRetroBox website will remain online for the immediate future for existing customers. I want to ensure you have plenty of time to export your digital collections. We will also still respond to customer service requests as needed.
Moving Forward: For those looking for a way to continue tracking their games, I highly recommend importing your exported data into alternative services to keep your library organized and valued.
To every subscriber, supporter, and fellow retro enthusiast: thank you! Thank you for taking a chance on a young developer and entrepreneur's vision and for being part of this story. I am incredibly proud of what we built together, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
